Miles, 22, sent shockwaves through the college-basketball world after forgoing the WNBA Draft and entering the transfer portal in March. Miles was widely thought of as the consensus No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, behind UConn star Paige Bueckers.
While Miles put her name in the transfer portal, it was unclear whether she would actually leave. Notre Dame turned in an excellent season, going 28-6 and earning a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The future is bright for the Fighting Irish, who have star sophomore Hannah Hidalgo set to return for her junior year. Hidalgo’s performance — she averaged 23.8 points and 5.0 rebounds — put her in the conversation for multiple end-of-year awards. Hidalgo was the only player other than Watkins to receive votes for the AP Player of the Year award. While Hidalgo missed out on that honor, she was the ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
As a senior, Miles averaged 15.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in her final season with Notre Dame.
