WWE Fans React to Booker T’s Hilarious Botch on ‘NXT’ originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
WWE fans are having a field day over Booker T’s recent mishap.
The WWE Hall of Famer has served as a color commentator on the “NXT” brand. On Tuesday, Booker T was tasked with hyping up the Houston crowd at the start of the episode.
While the former five-time WCW World Champion accomplished his goal, fans couldn’t help but react to a significant flub during his opening promo.
At one point during the segment, Booker T referred to Blake Monroe as Monica Monroe. Booker T’s error was likely due to a mix-up, as “Ladybird” Monica Monroe performs for his Reality of Wrestling promotion.

That didn’t stop fans from having some fun with Booker T’s botch. X user EycyL8 (isolate) believes the former Harlem Heat member may have struck gold with his mishap, writing, “That woulda been low-key better.”
K.N.C SZN reminded others that Booker T likely flubbed due to the aforementioned “Ladybird” being featured in his promotion.
“In his defense there’s a Monica Monroe in his wrestling promotion,” K.N.C SZN wrote.
RavensCasper215 wasn’t nearly as forgiving, commenting, “Booker over here drunk.” Meanwhile, GreyDwa2020 suggested WWE should book a battle of the Monroes.
“So we getting a Lady Bird vs Blake match then,” GreyDwa2020 wrote.
Joshua Cantu spared the jokes to criticize the name change for Monroe, who was known as Mariah May during her time in AEW.
“I know she chose Blake as to honor her niece,” Cantu wrote. “But there’s many better names. This being one of many. I think Blake should be banned as a name altogether it just doesn’t sound good.”
