WNBA Sends Angel Reese Message Before Chicago Sky Game on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Chicago Sky now own a 4-10 record during the 2025 WNBA season heading into Friday’s matchup against the 7-7 Golden State Valkyries.
They are fresh off a 97 to 86 victory against the 4-11 Los Angeles Sparks, a game in which 2024 WNBA All-Star forward Angel Reese arguably had her best performance of the season.
Reese contributed 18 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and a season-high 4 steals in the win. She also shot 6-for-12 from the floor and went 6-for-7 from the free throw line.
Fellow second-year post player Kamilla Cardoso also played a key role, as she pitched in a career-best 27 points in addition to seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Unfortunately, Cardoso temporarily left the Sky after Tuesday’s game as she will represent her home country, Brazil, at the Americup in late June and early July. She is expected to return before the July 6 contest against the Minnesota Lynx.
As for Reese, however, she will be in California with the rest of her Chicago teammates ahead of Friday’s matchup. The WNBA sent out a message about Reese before the Sky’s game against the Valkyries.
“Angel Reese continues to show she can do it all!” the WNBA wrote. “The sophomore delivered a massive double-double in the Sky’s last game, dropping 18 PTS, 17 REB, 6 AST, & 4 STL in the win over the Sparks. She’s back on the floor tonight as Chicago takes on Golden State at 10pm/ET on ION.”

Reese, who made the All-Rookie team in 2024 after averaging a league-record 13.1 rebounds per game, is having a strong sophomore campaign as well. She is contributing 11.3 points per night, as well as a league-leading 11.9 rebounds.
Friday night’s game will be held at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. Tipoff is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. ET.
