Angel Reese has been elevating her game lately for the Chicago Sky. Entering Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks, she was riding  a streak of three straight double-doubles—and her shooting efficiency was starting to trend upward.

Against the Sparks, Reese delivered again with 24 points on 10-of-19 shots and also pulled down 16 rebounds while adding seven assists and two blocks. Behind her performance, the Sky posted a 92-85 win—their second victory in the last three games.

Reese became just the fourth player to have at least 15 points and 15 rebounds in three consecutive games, joining A’ja Wilson, Jonquel Jones and WNBA legend Lisa Leslie.

Leslie was excited about Reese’s accomplishment in the latter’s post on Instagram.

“My voice is jacked up,” Leslie said. “You already know. Double-double queen, what?”

Reese, the No. 7 pick in last year’s WNBA draft, was the runner-up in the 2024 Rookie of the Year behind Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever. While she has had trouble shooting a respectable percentage so far in her pro career, she has been a rebounding machine and a good defender.

Coming into Sunday, she had a career average of 12.9 rebounds a game.

The Sky improved to 5-11, taking baby steps toward becoming competitive again. They won the championship in 2021, but they have finished under. 500 in each of the previous two seasons.

Chicago will have six full days off before it visits the Minnesota Lynx next Sunday, July 6. It will then face the Washington Mystics on the road before returning home to host Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.
