It’s a tradition for ESPN’s lead NBA reporter seemingly every year — Adrian Wojnarowski used to tip the picks for the NBA Draft minutes before they were officially announced, sometimes with colorful language.
But now, Shams Charania is his replacement, and NBA fans were fully expecting him to tip picks. And … he went silent for the first couple of picks. It was shocking!
Why was that? There was no explanation, at least after a cursory look around. Maybe ESPN put a stop to it before letting him do it with the No. 3 pick — remember, he did this before he joined the Worldwide Leader.
Fans had all kinds of reactions to Charania’s Twitter tipping

Shams kept going on Twitter, as did Jonathan Givony
No. 4 pick in the NBA draft to the Charlotte Hornets: Kon Knueppel.

The Charlotte Hornets have selected Kon Knueppel with the No. 4 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
He’s the draft’s best shooter, capable of shooting off movement coming off screens, but also is a solid defender and playmaker who plays a intelligent, highly competitive style. pic.twitter.com/iqHvVCnTvz

Just another draft on Twitter, it turns out.
