When it comes to experiencing a Saturday in Morgantown, fans know they’re signing up for more than just four quarters of football. The tailgates, the chants, the “Country Roads” tradition, it’s all part of what makes West Virginia one of the most unique college gamedays. But just like everywhere else, the price tag to take it all in keeps climbing.
The cost of a Saturday in Morgantown
According to the latest College Football Gameday Experience study from Oddspedia, the total cost for two people to attend a Mountaineer game in 2025 is about $202. That number puts West Virginia right in the middle of the national rankings, a small decrease of 1.9% from 2024.
Here’s how it breaks down: two hot dogs will run you $8, which is tied for one of the cheapest prices in the country. But parking, tickets, and drinks add up quickly, which is why the overall cost still lands above the national average of $184.67.
For comparison, Colorado is at the top of the board with a gameday total of $302, while Western Kentucky sits at the bottom at just $84.
How WVU stacks up against rivals
Looking at the conference, WVU fans aren’t alone. Texas Tech checks at $194, while Iowa State runs $233. Rivals aren’t much different either, with Virginia Tech at $206, and Pitt is lower after a sharp drop in costs, now at about $156.
Even with rising prices, parking alone has jumped nearly 19% nationwide in the last year, West Virginia’s crowd keeps showing up. The mix of affordability on some concessions and the atmosphere around the stadium helps balance things out. In short, Mountaineer Field might not be the cheapest place to spend a Saturday, but fans are still getting a full gameday experience that stacks up well against most programs in the country.
