The New England Patriots had a strong free agency, and that success continued at the 2025 NFL draft last weekend. Overall, the consensus from multiple media outlets and publications was that the Patriots had the best draft in the NFL.
Rene Bugner compiled 24 evaluations and ranked all of the team’s draft grades by GPA. New England stood tallest with a 3.67 GPA score.
The Patriots had 11 total picks in the 2025 draft.
They initially had nine selections before various trades that gave them a surplus of picks. The team focused on strengthening the offense around quarterback Drake Maye, boosting the defense and improving on special teams. It was one of the more impressive drafts we’ve seen from the franchise in recent memory.

It has been a great start to the remodel project for Patriots coach Mike Vrabel.
Granted, the team still has to go out on the field and win football games, but the feeling surrounding New England is filled with more optimism than it was a year ago. There’s hope that the young talent on the roster can be immediate contributors and help get the Patriots back to contention.
