Where Kade Anderson ranks on MLB's latest draft prospect list

Kade Anderson was slotted inside the top 10 on MLB.com’s latest prospect rankings ahead of the draft in July. The LSU left-handed pitcher is No. 9 on the list.

Behind Florida State’s Jamie Arnold, Anderson is the second-highest southpaw in the rankings. His standout sophomore year puts him near the top of the best draft-ready players as postseason looms for the Tigers.

With a fastball sitting in the low-to-mid 90s, Anderson mixes in four pitches with effective movement and speed variabilities. Scouts give him a high ceiling as he has yet to fill out his six-foot-two frame as he continues to land his breaking pitches in the strike zone.

Anderson claimed the coveted Friday starting spot on the mound for LSU and hasn’t disappointed. With a 3.57 ERA, the sophomore ranks second in the SEC with 70.2 innings pitched and 114 strikeouts, including 32 looking.

After sitting out his high school senior season to recover from Tommy John surgery, Anderson returned to limited action as a midweek starter and weekend reliever for the Tigers last year. He made a successful transition to the rotation’s headliner in 2025, and his draft projection reflects that.
