It is always fun to see where teams land in power rankings. In the offseason, we don’t get many updates on those, as the rosters only drastically change twice: once during free agency and again during the NFL Draft. Free agency has come and gone, and the NFL Draft came to a close a week ago.
Some teams have seen their stock rise significantly, while others have seen themselves stay stagnant.
The Bucs started to tick up the rankings just a little bit. They entered the NFL Draft ranked ninth,, and now they have earned a seventh-place ranking from NFL Media’s Eric Edholm. He writes, “The Buccaneers, pound for pound, assembled one of the most impactful draft classes this year. The Emeka Egbuka pick did make me question giving Chris Godwin all that money a bit, but it’s terrific insurance, at the very least. There really wasn’t a pick I disliked at all. . .The offense looks like a monster, and the defense looks improved. . .Don’t overlook the Bucs among the league’s contenders. They’re right among them.”
Several analysts have considered the Bucs’ draft to be one of the best. The pick of Egbuka shocked everyone at the moment, but everyone has seemingly turned around on it, which has allowed this class to become even more star-eyed.
