CLEMSON — Clemson baseball looks to host its third straight regional in the NCAA tournament regional under coach Erik Bakich.
The No. 4 Tigers (30-5, 9-3 ACC) have won every series so far this season, including five conference matchups, and are tied for second in the ACC standings. They aim to make the College World Series for the first time since 2010 after making an NCAA regional in 2023 as a No. 4 overall seed then reaching the NCAA super regionals last season as a No. 6 overall seed.
Selection Monday (May 26, noon ET), where the full field of 64 for the tournament is announced, is almost one month away, and Clemson is featured in the latest projections by Baseball America and D1Baseball.
Here’s a look at where the Tigers sit in the postseason projections ahead of their home series vs. No. 19 Louisville (27-9, 9-6).
Baseball America’s NCAA tournament projection for Clemson
Baseball America projects Clemson as a No. 6 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, a one-spot drop from last week, to host a regional as a No. 1 seed at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas and North Carolina all are higher overall seeds than the Tigers.
No. 2 seed Kansas, No. 3 Kentucky and No. 4 Florida A&M would be part of the Clemson Regional.
D1Baseball’s projection for Clemson
D1Baseball projects Clemson as a No. 3 overall seed, hosting a regional too. Texas and Arkansas both are higher overall seeds than the Tigers.
The Clemson Regional would include No. 2 seed West Virginia, No. 3 Kentucky and No. 4 Central Connecticut State.
