When will Summer Olympics be held in OKC? Dates unveiled for 2028 softball, canoe slalom

The 2028 Summer Olympics are just three years away, but fans of softball and canoe slalom can go ahead and mark their calendars for the two events to be held in OKC.

The LA28 committee unveiled the official schedule for every sport in the 2028 Olympic Games on Monday, July 14.

OKC, which hosted the 1989 Summer Olympic Festival, will be hosting events from the official Olympic Games for the first time.

Softball, which will be played at Devon Park, returns to the lineup for the first time since Tokyo in 2021. This will mark just the sixth time the sport has been in the Olympics. Team USA will be led by OU head coach Patty Gasso.

Canoe slalom will take place at the Riversport OKC. The event has been part of every Olympic Games since Barcelona 1992. There are six Olympic medal events within canoe slalom: Men’s C-1 (canoe singles), men’s K-1 (kayak singles), men’s KX-1 (kayak cross), women’s C-1, women’s K-1 and women’s KX-1.

  • Where: OKC Softball Park

2028 Olympic canoe slalom schedule

  • When: July 14-22 (medal events July 15-16, 18-19, 22)
  • Where: OKC Whitewater Center
