Who’s wearing it now: TE Pat Conroy
Conroy was signed this offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Old Dominion.
Who wore it best: WR Mervyn Fernandez
Swervin’ Mervyn was selected by the Raiders in the 10th round of the 1983 NFL Draft. He went on to play with the CFL’s BC Lions for five years before ever playing a snap for the Raiders. He joined the Raiders in 1987. In his second season, he caught 31 passes for 805 yards which is an astounding 26 yards per catch. His third season he put up career highs with 57 catches for 1067 yards and nine touchdowns. Becoming a fan favorite of the late 80s LA Raiders teams.
All told he would play 12 years of professional football — six in the CFL and six for the Raiders. He was elected to the BC Lions Hall of Fame.
