Rory McIlroy has tried everything from hypnosis to watching Bridgerton in an attempt to end his Masters heartache, but he could do worse than copying the putting prowess of his four-year-old daughter.
Poppy McIlroy, complete in adorable boiler suit, was accompanying father Rory, alongside Shane Lowry and his family, in the pre-tournament, par-three contest at Augusta National, when she was given the chance to sink a mammoth downhill putt on the ninth hole.
With at least 30 feet of green to negotiate, and a little help from McIlroy and Lowry in lining up the ball, Poppy barely gives it a tap as it starts its descent towards the hole. The ball seems to take an age, but eventually starts to straighten before disappearing into the cup in front of an almost disbelieving Lowry.

Poppy, who was mobbed by Lowry’s daughter, looked nonplussed at her achievement, and then overwhelmed at the acclaim, before giving McIlroy a cuddle.
McIlroy can only hope there will be similar scenes come Sunday, as he attempts to become just the sixth male player to complete the career grand slam.
