The 2025 Masters got its unofficial start Wednesday, April 9, with the annual Par 3 Contest at Augusta National Golf Club.
The family-friendly competition lets participants’ families — including children and grandchildren — participate or serve as caddies.
Rory McIlroy’s daughter, Poppy, was one of the kids who took part this year. Watch the video below to see her make a putt on the the ninth hole during the Par 3 Contest to the delight of her father and the watching crowd.

The 89th Masters Tournament began Thursday and goes through Sunday, April 13. Defending champion Scottie Scheffler is vying to become the first golfer to win back-to-back Masters tournaments in more than two decades.

According to USA TODAY, how much the Masters Tournament winner and other competitors can take home will not be known until the end of the tournament, but more than $20 million is expected to be awarded.
Last year, Scheffler walked away with a purse of $3.6 million for winning the tournament.
