Making its rounds on social media recently are highlights of Jacksonville Jaguars’ GM James Gladstone from his playing days in high school.
During his high school football career, Gladstone played on both sides of the ball at wide receiver and cornerback.

Learning this about Gladstone makes his aggressive move up the draft board for two-way star Travis Hunter all the more fitting.
In the matter of one offseason, we’ve seen Gladstone quickly reshape this Jaguars roster. The Jaguars didn’t re-sign any of their own unrestricted free agents, while Gladstone brought in 15 outside signings. The team also added nine players through the NFL draft and then made 22 undrafted rookie signings.
In total, out of 91 players on the roster, 46 were not on the team last season.
“You’re talking about two separate things, both on field and off field,” Gladstone said earlier this offseason about building the roster, via Jaguars.com. “All of us when we think about the idea of intangibles, we probably get to the same spot without even saying anything out loud.
“On field we’re looking for competitiveness, toughness and football instincts. Off the field, you’re looking for people that elevate those around them and our passion about the sport of football. It’s really not all that complex, but it’s something that we’re just simply going to prioritize and be disciplined in our approach.”
