Watch: Drake Maye uncorks 50-yard bomb for best play at training camp

Who needs two legs when you can throw 50 yards downfield on one? That’s the question that New England Patriots fans should be asking quarterback Drake Maye after he uncorked a 50-yard bomb touchdown pass to wide receiver Demario Douglas while leaning on one leg in 11-on-11s Saturday.

The second-year signal-caller looked like a magician in the pocket, maneuvering away from pressure and finding just enough space to fling the ball deep.

Douglas could be seen speeding down the sideline with safety Kyle Dugger trailing him in coverage, before hauling in the pass and running into the end zone for six points.

It was the best play so far at training camp.

Maye’s ability to keep his eyes downfield and patiently wait for receivers to come open is an element in his game that has obviously improved. He isn’t as quick to put his head down and take off scrambling.

For all of the Josh Allen comparisons, this was one of the more Josh Allen-esque highlight reel plays from Maye.
