Warriors starting rookie big man in Game 2 vs. Timberwolves

Since the start of the playoffs, Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors have used a flurry of different starting lineups. Multiple players have received starts alongside Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green through eight games in the playoffs. Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, Gary Payton and Buddy Hield have all notched starts in the 2025 edition of the playoffs.

With Curry slated to miss Thursday’s Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Steve Kerr is forced to use another starting lineup. In Game 2, Kerr and the Warriors are opting for size and shooting. Brandin Podziemski will slide to the point guard role next to Buddy Hield in the backcourt alongside Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and rookie big man Quinten Post.

Post played six minutes in Game 1 against the Timberwolves, recording a solo rebound. Post has played in each playoff game, averaging 4.6 points on 32.5% from the field and 30.8% from beyond the arc to go along with 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 15.6 minutes per game.

Thursday will mark Post’s first career playoff start and his 15th start of his rookie campaign.
