Chelsea and Barcelona are both waiting to see what Fermin Lopez wants to do according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues have had a busy end to the window, and after agreeing a deal earlier this week for Alejandro Garnacho, they made a surprise signing on Friday.

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Brighton winger Facundo Buonanotte on a season loan with no option to buy.

Once Christopher Nkunku left for AC Milan, it was expected Chelsea would move forward and complete a deal for Xavi Simons.

However, Chelsea didn’t even make an offer in the end, and Simons surprisingly opted to join rivals Tottenham instead.

The Blues have been linked with Lopez, but as of yet nothing is advanced on that deal, and it would reportedly be difficult to do.

Enzo Maresca is said to have spoken to Lopez personally, and Romano has now provided an update on the whole situation.

“Chelsea and Barca are both waiting to see what Fermin Lopez wants to do,” he told his YouTube channel.

“In Spain, the media said he would release a statement on Friday clarifying his future but he didn’t do that, let’s see what happens on Saturday.”

Chelsea face busy end to the window

Having agreed deals for both Garnacho and Buonanotte, Chelsea still have work to do in regards to moving players on.

A decision on Nicolas Jackson’s future is expected imminently, whilst the Blues still need to find solutions for Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling.

It’s likely Chilwell, Disasi and Sterling will go right up to deadline day, and the Blues will probably have to accept deals they wouldn’t have wanted to earlier in the window.

The most important thing is getting Sterling and Chilwell’s wages off the books, and if Chelsea can do that they’ll be saving over £500,000 per week.
