Wakefield Trinity youngster Ellis Lingard has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal to remain with the Super League club until the end of the 2029 season.
The 18-year-old made his Super League debut for the club in May and scored two tries against Salford Red Devils.
Having come through the club’s academy, he made his senior debut for the club in the Championship last season against Dewsbury.
“It was a very easy decision and it’s nice to know my future is secured with a club that’s going in the right direction both on and off the field.
“The past few years have been incredible as I’ve grown and developed as a player and transitioning into the first team has been an easy step with the players that we have at the club welcoming me into the group.”
