Each week you can vote for both the Courier & Press spring sports Athlete of the Week. Below you will find the poll and brief info on each performance. You can vote as often as you’d like until 10 a.m. CT Friday morning.
Brianna Canaan, Memorial: The sophomore had 21 strikeouts in two semistate games including a three-hit shutout against Charlestown.
Brayden Giesler, Jasper: The senior wa 2 for 3 with a home run, walk and stolen base in a regional championship win against Central.
Charlie Hoffman, Mater Dei: The senior was 3 for 4 with a home run and two doubles in a regional championship win over Barr-Reeve.
Alena Holder, Tecumseh: The senior went 4 for 6 with two home runs and eight RBIs in two semistate victories for the Braves.
De’Janay Layne, North: The junior earned two podium finishes at the state championship: second in the 200 and fifth in the 100.
Jackson Nolan, Reitz: The senior finished third in the 3,200-meter race at the state championship with a time of 8:56.33.
Braden Perry, North: The senior had six strikeouts with zero earned runs in four innings in a regional championship win over Seymour.
Aidan Sheetz, Northeast Dubois: The senior was 2 for 3 with a home run, walk and two RBIs in a regional championship win over West Washington.
