Licking County athletes proved they are among the elite in Ohio last week.

Licking Valley in Division III and Newark Catholic in Division VII each won regional baseball championships.

Northridge senior Isabel Evans won a pair of Division III girls track state championships in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles, breaking the Division III state record in the latter. Granville junior Annie McCracken added a runner-up finish in the Division I girls pole vault as Licking County athletes combined for eight finishes of fifth place or better.
