It’s time to vote for the Morris/Sussex Athlete of the Week!

Nominations were provided by coaches and are presented in alphabetical order. Voting closes at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Benjamin Barninger
Randolph junior middle
Barninger led Randolph in kills and blocks in its three victories en route to its first Group 2 North volleyball title. He totaled 25 kills – setting a school record with 252 this season – nine blocks, 15 digs, an assist and an ace.
Luke Cimino and Scott Sullivan
Madison first doubles
The first doubles team won its match, 6-0, 6-4, as Madison topped Mountain Lakes, to win North 2, Group 1 – its first sectional title since 1998. They went on to win, 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles in the Group 1 semifinal against Park Ridge. The duo won Madison’s only match in a 4-1 loss to Haddon Twp. in the Group 1 final on June 5.
Liam Costello
West Morris junior pitcher/first baseman
Costello went 2-for-8, hitting a game-tying two-run single and a walk-off three-run homer in the nine-inning North 2, Group 2 final victory against sister-school Mendham on June 5. On the mound, Costello allowed four hits and four walks and struck out 10 over 8⅓ innings of the sectional semi and final.
Isabella Frattura
Sparta senior thrower/jumper
Frattura defended her NJSIAA Meet of Champions javelin title on June 4. On her final throw, she re-broke the Sussex County record with a 150-3 – the 17th-best mark in the United States this spring.
Tyler Haberstroh
Wallkill Valley junior shortstop/pitcher
Haberstroh allowed three hits and one run, walking one and striking out six in a complete game, as Wallkill Valley lost at Midland Park, 1-0, in the North 1, Group 1 final on June 5. In the semifinal victory against Pequannock, he allowed three hits and got one strikeout in 1⅓ innings of the Rangers’ victory at Pequannock.
