The countdown to USC’s 2025 football season is officially on! The Trojans kick off their new campaign 34 days from today. You need something to help you while away the days and hours in the spring and summer. This is one way to do so. In this new series, countdown to kickoff, we will be counting down the days by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number. Today, we look at former USC cornerback Tony Burnett.

Years played at USC: 2010-2012
Career highlights: After playing both football and track and the junior college level, Burnett transferred to USC for track and field in 2009. In 2010, he walked on to the Trojans football team, on which he played for the next three years. Burnett emerged as a key contributor for USC as both a backup defensive back and on special teams, earning a scholarship in 2011. As a redshirt senior in 2012, he earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors.
After USC: Burnett signed with the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent following the 2013 NFL Draft. However, he was released prior to the start of the season. He played in the Canadian Football League from 2015 through 2017.
