The countdown to USC’s 2025 football season is officially on! The Trojans kick off their new campaign 66 days from today. You need something to help you while away the days and hours in the spring and summer. This is one way to do so. In this new series, countdown to kickoff, we will be counting down the days by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number. Today, we take a look at former USC offensive lineman Marcus Martin.
Position: Offensive line
Years played at USC: 2011-2013
Career highlights: Martin earned USC’s starting left guard job as a true freshman in 2011. After two seasons starting at the position, he moved to center following the departure of Khaled Holmes in 2013. As the Trojans’ starting center his junior year, Martin was named a team captain and earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors.
After USC: Following his junior season, Martin declared for the 2014 NFL draft, where the San Francisco 49ers selected him in the third round. He would go on to spend seven years in the league, including stints with six different teams. Martin’s last stint on an NFL active roster came with the New England Patriots in 2020.
