Morgan Charriere spoiled Nate Landwehr’s homecoming with a big knockout.
On the main card of UFC on ESPN 70 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., Charriere (21-11-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) stunned the crowd with a finishing barrage of the hometown fighter Landwehr (18-7 MMA, 5-5 UFC). Referee Blake Grice jumped in to stop the fight at 0:27 of Round 3.
The first two rounds of the fight were very competitive. Landwehr even returned to his stool after Round 2 fired up to enter the final round. Charriere was much calmer entering the third round, but when it began, it didn’t take long for him to unload a barrage of strikes that led to the finish.
Charriere clipped Landwehr with a clean punch, and then just spammed heavy looping hooks until his opponent fell to the canvas.

With the win, Charriere, 29, returns to the win column after a unanimous decision loss to Nathaniel Wood in March. The Frenchman has traded wins and losses over his past five fights. Landwehr, 37, has now lost back-to-back fights, failing to rebound from a loss to DooHo Choi in his last outing.
