Travis Hunter is already making waves in his first NFL training camp, and he’s doing it in a style Deion Sanders would be proud of.

In a video first shared by the Jacksonville Jaguars on their official X account, Hunter was seen finishing warm-ups with a signature footwork display straight out of the “Prime Time” playbook.

The rookie cornerback and wide receiver, who played under Sanders with the Jackson State Tigers and Colorado Buffaloes, capped his session with a high-step strut and slick foot shuffle that drew instant comparisons to his former coach.

Hunter, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, is one of the most hyped rookies in recent memory. Jacksonville took a gamble on his rare two-way skill set, with plans to deploy him as a wide receiver and a cornerback, although the franchise hasn’t specified how much he’ll play on either side of the ball.

Expectations are high, and patience is wearing thin in Duval. The Jaguars finished 4-13 last season, continuing a frustrating stretch after their surprise AFC South title run in 2022. With quarterback Trevor Lawrence likely feeling more pressure to justify his monster $275 million contract extension last year and first-year coach Liam Coen under pressure to produce results, 2025 feels like a critical season to pivot the franchise’s fortunes.

Hunter, 22, is seen as a potential spark on both sides of the ball. His shutdown coverage, elite instincts and explosive athleticism give the Jaguars a dynamic presence they haven’t had in the secondary since Jalen Ramsey.

On offense, his ability to flip momentum with his smooth route running, body control and elite hands could be a game-changer.

Channeling his former coach’s energy on the practice field isn’t just homage. It’s confidence; it’s swagger. And it’s exactly what Jacksonville fans are hoping translates into wins this fall.
