A group of players representing four Licking County schools won five championships this spring and summer for the Train4Freedom 12U baseball team.
Train4Freedom finished 35-7 comprised of players from Newark Catholic, Newark, Heath and Granville Christian.
In their final tournament of the season, Grayson Foraker’s walk-off home run gave the Train4Freedom a 10-8 victory against the Olentangy Stix in the championship game. Brent Mechling and Reid Gebhart combined for five RBIs in the win, and Layton Cox scored three runs.
Gebhart struck out 11 in a one-hitter in a previous 6-2 victory against the New Albany Eagles, and Armoni Woods struck out 11 in a four-hitter in a 5-1 victory against the Eastside Warriors.
Other players are Xavion Weber, Mason Mitchell, Grayson Gilligan, Payton LeVeque, Luke Guanciale and Liam Poth.
Coaches are Brent Mitchell, Jamie Cox and Brian Gilligan.
