The Miami Dolphins were a fantasy football powerhouse in 2023, but not nearly as much last year.
Heading into the 2025 season, the Dolphins offense is headlined by many of the same players who put up huge fantasy numbers two years ago. But the team is hoping some better injury luck coupled with a retooled offensive line will get the Miami offense back to its former self.
Here are five Dolphins players you should consider drafting to your fantasy football team:
5. RB Ollie Gordon II
Gordon was perhaps the NFL’s highest-rising rookie running back in August. He rushed for 126 yards on 26 carries in three preseason games, an average of 4.8 yards per carry, and added a touchdown. He also reeled in three receptions for another 48 yards, and proved he can stay on the field as a three-down back with his pass blocking ability.
Gordon could work his way in heavy carries, as De’Von Achane is dealing with a calf ailment. While that injury isn’t expected to keep Achane out of the lineup, he could see limited carries in between the tackles, which should go to Gordon in abundance.
4. QB Tua Tagovailoa
One of the more polarizing players in both actual and fantasy football, Tagovailoa is two seasons removed from leading the league in passing yards (4,624). But his health has always been the concern. After missing six games in 2024, fantasy managers may hesitate to trust him as their consistent starter. When healthy, however, he transforms the Miami Dolphins’ offense into a prolific unit, as shown in 2023 when he threw 29 touchdown passes. That, however, remains his only full season to date.
He is best suited as an excellent No. 2 fantasy quarterback or a streaming option for managers who draft a primary starter earlier. Formats such as best ball and deeper leagues, which allow multiple quarterbacks without sacrificing skill positions, provide the safest opportunities to roster him.
3. WR Tyreek Hill
Hill was an elite producer in 2023, finishing as the second-highest-scoring wide receiver in both standard and PPR formats. He led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and scored 13 touchdowns, but those numbers took a steep decline in 2024.
Tagovailoa’s absence contributed significantly to that drop-off, as did a lingering wrist injury. Hill’s top-tier draft value may no longer be justified, but If he returns to his usual form, he could be a highly valuable receiver. Expectations should be tempered, though. He is currently recovering from an oblique injury and needs to repair his relationship with Tagovailoa after pulling himself from the Dolphins’ final game of the season and making questionable comments about his future in Miami.
2. WR Jaylen Waddle
Jaylen Waddle may offer better fantasy value than Hill this season. Entering his fifth year, Waddle has the potential to thrive thanks to his established rapport with Tagovailoa, dating back to their collegiate days at Alabama.
Waddle opened his career with three straight 1,000-yard seasons and led the NFL in yards per reception (18.1) in 2022. However, 2024 was a setback as he totaled just 744 yards on 58 receptions and scored only two touchdowns.
1. RB De’Von Achane
The Dolphins’ best fantasy asset is Achane who, despite dealing with a minor calf injury, is not expected to miss Week 1. He led all running backs in receptions and receiving yards last season, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities. PPR formats are where he shines most, making him a potential late-first-round pick for those willing to take on slight injury risk.
Managers who pass on him in the first round could get excellent value in the second. The emergence of Gordon could cut into his workload, especially near the goal line, but Achane is expected to see increased usage as a pass-catcher, potentially lining up in the slot or out wide more often than last season.
His production, however, is heavily tied to Tagovailoa’s health. His numbers were dramatically different with the starter under center compared to the trio of backups who took the reins during Tagovailoa’s six-game absence last season. If both remain healthy, Achane has the skill set to deliver first-round production.
