Titans go 2-1 at Red Lake Falls Round Robin

Jun. 28—RED LAKE FALLS — The Bemidji American Legion softball team was back in action at the Red Lake Falls Round Robin on Friday.

The Titans went 2-1 in their three games. They beat Roseau 7-1 and East Polk 11-6 in eight innings. However, the host team got the better of Post 14 by a score of 4-2.

Against Roseau, Aleah Shogren was involved on both sides of the field. She went 2 for 4 at the plate with three RBIs. She also pitched a complete game, allowing just one hit and one unearned run with nine strikeouts.

Despite allowing the tying runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, Anna Swedberg also left Red Lake Falls with a win in the circle over East Polk. She struck out 13 batters in the five-run win.

Of Bemidji’s 10 hits, nine of them were singles. Maya Schmidt went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. Shogren went 3 for 4 with three singles and an RBI, and scored a run. Kenley Anderson, Jessa Anderson, Brooklyn Nord, Hannah Backus and Bailey Nord all had at least one single.

Bemidji plated two runs in the bottom of the first inning against Red Lake Falls, but lost 4-2. Red Lake Falls scored one run in the first and fourth innings, and two in the second.

The Titans will hold an 8-2 record through July 4.
