CHICAGO — Thursday’s Chicago White Sox game against the Cleveland Guardians was postponed because of rain.
The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Friday, with the makeup game starting at 2:10 p.m. and the regularly scheduled contest at 7:10 p.m.
Shane Smith will start Game 1 for the Sox and Jonathan Cannon is scheduled for Game 2. Logan Allen will go Game 1 for the Guardians and Gavin Williams in Game 2.
Game tickets, parking passes and stadium club passes from Thursday’s postponement will be honored only for the 2:10 p.m. makeup game. Fans do not need to exchange game tickets, parking passes or stadium club passes to attend the rescheduled game.
Parking lots will open at 12:10 p.m. Gates for Game 1 will open at 1:10 p.m. and gates for Game 2 at 5:40 p.m. The Mark Buehrle statue-unveiling ceremony remains scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m., the Sox said.
The Guardians are in Chicago for the first time this season with a four-game series on tap through Sunday. The Sox were swept in a three-game series April 8-10 in Cleveland.
