The Oklahoma City Thunder were able to cap off their dominant 2024-25 NBA season with a championship as they defeated the Indiana Pacers in seven games during the NBA Finals.
It was an incredible season for the Thunder as they finished with the best record in the NBA during the regular season and then made an incredible run to the Finals.
Despite their dominance, the Pacers were able to push the Thunder to seven games during the NBA Finals, though Oklahoma City was ultimately able to prevail as the champions.
Of course, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the Thunder this season as he was named regular season, Western Conference Finals and NBA Finals MVP, becoming the first player to do so.
The rest of Oklahoma City’s roster also came up big down the stretch, especially Jalen Williams who put together an incredible season.
On Monday, Thunder general manager Sam Presti met with the media for his end-of-season presser where he made a major injury announcement regarding Williams.
Presti announced that Williams will undergo surgery on his right wrist to repair a ligament tear that he suffered near the end of the regular season and that he is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of training camp.

This is massive news by Presti, though Williams had dealt with the injury since the end of the regular season and was expected to have surgery this offseason.
Of course, Williams was able to play through the injury in the playoffs, helping lead the Thunder to their first championship since relocating to Oklahoma City.
Williams put together an incredible season that saw him be named an All-Star for the first time while also making both the All-NBA and All-Defensive teams for the first time.
Now Williams will look to get healthy this offseason as he and the Thunder try to go back-to-back next season.
