Things between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky might not calm down anytime soon.
On Saturday during the WNBA’s 2025 opening weekend, Clark and Reese found themselves in a bit of a scuffle. Here’s how it went down:
Reese and Fever forward Natasha Howard were working under the basket. Reese pushed Howard, trying to secure a rebound. She got it, then dribbled to reset herself to go up for a bucket. Clark stepped up, went across Reese’s body for the foul, and pushed her to the ground. Clark walked away as Reese got up, but the Sky forward gave her an earful over the foul. Fever center Aliyah Boston stepped in to hold Reese back. Clark was assessed a flagrant one foul, and Boston and Reese earned technical fouls.

After the play, Clark told ESPN’s Holly Rowe that there was no harm intended towards Reese.
“It’s just a good take foul,” Clark said. “Either Angel gets wide-open two points. Or, you know, we send them to the free throw line. Nothing malicious about it. Just a good take foul. Every basketball player knows that.”
While the foul might not have been malicious, it was unnecessary. Clark could have fouled Reese without pushing her. Thankfully, the two are cool with one another off the court. So, we’re hoping that the rivalry can just stay on the basketball court.
During the offseason, Clark attempted to put the storyline to bed by insisting there was no rivalry.
“We’re not best friends, by any means, but we’re very respectful of one another,” Clark said at the time.
Surely everyone will be cool and totally normal about Saturday’s incident.
