Texas A&M Football Secures Four-Star Wide Receiver Madden Williams After Potential USC Flip Rumors

Texas A&M Football Secures Four-Star Wide Receiver Madden Williams After Potential USC Flip Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

In the middle of June, Texas A&M football was in danger of losing wide receiver commit Madden Williams. The four-star recruit from California is the No. 239 recruit in the class of 2026. He’s also the No. 39 wideout.

Williams announced his commitment on Dec. 28, 2024. USC continued to recruit him, though, hoping proximity would influence the rising senior to flip his commitment.

To the Trojans dismay, Williams stayed with the Aggies. On June 27, Adidas revealed six recruits from the class of 2026 were signed to NIL endorsement deals. Williams was one of the student-athletes on the list, confirming his commitment and place at Kyle Field.

On Saturday, June 28, it was announced that he shut down his commitment as reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Williams is no longer considering other offers, including USC and putting his talents in one basket at College Station.

“I’m ready to go bring back a national championship to Aggieland,” Williams said to Fawcett.

He was one of the first commits head coach Mike Elko landed from the class. As a junior at St. John Bosco, he had 50 receptions for 851 yards and 13 touchdowns. Williams route-running is especially notable in his game with his separation skills improving. He also was invited to play in the annual Polynesian Bowl, giving him a chance to continue showing Texas A&M his abilities assuming he signs with the Aggies on Early Signing Day on Dec. 4.

Elko also has four-stars Aaron Gregory and Mike Brown committed to the program, giving the Aggies a strong wide receiver corps for the near future.
