Tennessee Titans select new face of the franchise in The Athletic's 2024 re-draft

The NFL draft is always a flurry of activity, met with instant analysis and grades on every pick. It’s often fun to look back and see what would have happened if a player’s NFL performance was factored in.

The Tennessee Titans would love to be able to go back and re-draft a few of their classes over the past five years. While Peter Skoronski and JC Latham appear to be solid picks, Isaiah Wilson, Caleb Farley, and Treylon Burks could be considered busts that have helped land the Titans in the basement.

The selection of Latham in 2024 did help improve the Titans’ offensive line, although he was likely miscast as a left tackle. The Titans will be moving him back to right tackle in 2025 after signing Dan Moore, and his value could skyrocket.

But in this case, and in this re-draft by The Athletic, the Titans go a completely different direction and land the new face of their franchise with the seventh pick.

7. Tennessee Titans: Bo Nix, QB, Oregon

Original pick: JC Latham, OT, Alabama

Like the Giants, the Titans remain firmly in quarterback hell and still haven’t found a firm path out (although, Cam Ward’s probably coming soon). This is a team that really should’ve taken advantage of last year’s quarterback class, regardless of how it felt about an unproven Will Levis. Nix absolutely outperformed expectations last year in Denver and appears to have a bright future.

The selection of Bo Nix in this scenario makes perfect sense and would have had a ripple effect throughout the team’s draft, but it is quite possible they would be in this same position in 2025.

While Nix appears to be an upgrade over Will Levis, taking Latham out of that porous offensive line would have been devastating. Latham and Skoronski, although not perfect, were solid and made up for the deficiencies on the right side of the offensive line.
