Louisville football cornerback Tayon Holloway was seen practicing with the team when fall camp began Wednesday morning.
Reports began circulating about Holloway’s status over the weekend after he posted a photo of himself wearing a No. 25 Louisville jersey to his Instagram story on Saturday. Holloway was reinstated to the football team after the conclusion of his legal matter.
Holloway was charged with strangulation and assault on Nov. 17. He was subsequently suspended from all team activities indefinitely. On June 4, his case was dismissed. Holloway’s football bio is available online, and the Virginia native received an 81 rating in EA Sports’ College Football 26 video game. He also is listed on the team’s online roster.
Holloway spent two seasons at North Carolina before transferring to Louisville in 2024. When Quincy Riley was out, Holloway started three games and ended the season with 16 tackles, two for loss, a sack and six pass breakups.
Louisville opens the season at home against Eastern Kentucky on Aug. 30. Should Holloway play at that time, it’ll be his first game back since playing against Stanford on Nov. 16. He had three tackles, one sack and a costly penalty in the 38-35 loss.
