May 29—PARK RAPIDS — The Bemidji High School girls golf team wrapped up its season with a sixth-place finish at the Section 8-3A meet in Park Rapids on Wednesday.
The Lumberjacks qualified for the second day of sections with a first-round score of 365. BHS shot a 366 on Thursday at Headwaters Golf Club, finishing with a two-day score of 731.
Brynn Meyer led the Jacks with a two-day total of 180. Taylor Schulke was two shots behind Meyer in 19th. Aurora Frank (183), Mali McLean (186), Stella Schoonover (197) and Halle Sanden (202) rounded out the tournament for Bemidji.
The top team and the six best individuals outside of the top team qualify for state. Alexandria will represent Section 8-3A after recording a team score of 662, which was 34 strokes better than second-place Moorhead.
Alexandria’s Ellie Sticha (157) won the individual section title. Becker’s Layla Mathews (159), Sartell’s Gwen Latunski (160), Willmar’s Kennedy Mara (161), Moorhead’s Taylor Hagen (168) and Willmar’s Lucia Martin Rodriguez (168) qualified for state individually.
