With the start of the postseason knocking on the door and the final week of the NBA season knocking on the door, the Golden State Warriors wasted no time handling business in Phoenix on Tuesday night.
Against a struggling Phoenix Suns’ squad, the Warriors jumped to an early lead and never looked back on the way to a blowout victory in their second-to-last road game of the regular season.
Behind an early Steph Curry opening hayamker, the Warriors outscored the Suns 37-24 in the first frame. With a 13-point lead heading into the second quarter, the Warriors put the remainder of the game in cruise control, storming past the Suns in blowout fashion, 133-95.
After an uncharacteristic three-point effort against the Houston Rockets on Sunday, Curry bounced back with a team-high 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field to go along with nine boards and six assists in only three quarters.
Second-year guard Brandin Podziemski continued his impressive stretch of play, recording 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field with four made 3-pointers. Podziemski has scored 19 points or more in five of his last six games. Podziemski has also drilled four or more 3-pointers in five of his last six games.

The duo of Curry and Podziemski combined for 47 points, blasting past the Suns’ star-studded pairing of Devin Booker (21) and Bradley Beal (7), who combined for 28 points.
With Quinten Post ruled out before the game with an illness, Trayce Jackson-Davis got a chance off the bench and delivered. To spark Golden State’s second unit, the second-year big man out of Indiana notched 13 points, eight rebounds and a must-see dunk in the fourth quarter.

As the Warriors secured a win, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers suffered losses on Tuesday evening. Each result slightly shook up an incredibly tight race in the Western Conference playoff picture. The Warriors (47-32) remain the No. 6 seed, trailing the No. 4 Denver Nuggets (47-32) and Los Angeles Clippers (47-32). With three games left on the schedule, the Warriors need to win all three to guarantee a top-six seed in the West. The Warriors will host the Clippers on Sunday for the regular-season finale.
Following their win on Tuesday, the Warriors will return to the Bay Area to play the San Antonio Spurs for the second leg of a back-to-back on Wednesday night at Chase Center.
