The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors are both California-based heavyweights with iconic stars, but neither team reached the Western Conference Finals in the spring. LeBron James and the Lakers fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games during the first round, and the Warriors also lost to the Timberwolves in five. However, their defeat was in the second round, and Steph Curry never returned after exiting Game 1 with a hamstring strain.

Golden State has made no major moves so far this summer, while Los Angeles agreed to a two-year, $16.6 million contract with free-agent center Deandre Ayton. Veteran big man Kevon Looney will leave the Warriors for the New Orleans Pelicans, and they must decide what to do about forward Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency.

Meanwhile, Curry was seen enjoying his offseason by taking in California Classic Summer League hoops on Saturday. The Warriors beat the Lakers 89-84 at the Chase Center.

Warriors fans reacted to Curry’s attendance on social media.

“That’s my goat,” another said.

“The one and only Steph the chef Curry,” another said.

“THE MAN IS LOVABLE,  cute kid too,” another said.

“Look at Curry, man,” another said.

Curry was 11th in the NBA with 24.5 points per game this past season. The future Hall of Famer shot 44.8 percent from the field (39.7 percent 3 PT) with 4.4 rebounds and six assists over 32.2 minutes.

Curry, who will turn 38 next season, is entering the last year of his contract.
