The deadline to trim NFL rosters from 90 to 53 is Tuesday, but several teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, are already hard at work after they wrapped up the preseason on Thursday night. Here is a full rundown of the Steelers roster cuts, and we will update it as new information comes out about which guys are in and which are out leading up to the deadline.
Linebacker – Kenny Willekes
Six-year veteran edge rusher who was only signed by the Steelers four days ago
Long snapper – Jake McQuaide
Added last week after the injury to starting long snapper Christian Kuntz
Defensive back – Kam Alexander
Alexander was another very late addition to the roster as depth for the final preseason game.
Defensive back – Quindell Johnson
Three-year veteran out of Memphis who has also spent time with the Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers
Defensive back – Kyler McMichael
Former undrafted rookie in his second season out of North Carolina.
Defensive back – Mikey Victor
Undrafted rookie out of Alabama State. Should make a practice squad somewhere.
Offensive line – Doug Nester
Nester played his college football at West Virginia but struggled in limited action this preseason.
Offensive line – Julian Pearl
Second-year player out of the University of Illinois who was with the Ravens, Vikings and Browns last season.
Quarterback – Logan Woodside
Added after the injury to Will Howard, he played sparingly in the final two preseason games but could get a shot on another team.
Running back – Evan Hull
Former fifth-round pick out of Northwestern. Hull had a couple of nice runs in preseason but the running back depth chart is crowded.
Tight end – Kevin Foelsch
Former undrafted free agent in his second season out of New Haven.
