Steelers rookie responds to injury concerns: 'Nothing is wrong with my shoulder'

The Steelers‘ first-round selection of Derrick Harmon with pick No. 21 in the 2025 NFL Draft was an expected move — but one that was criticized due to concerns over his shoulder injury. At Steelers rookie minicamp on Friday, the big defensive tackle wasted little time clearing up the rumors about his health.

Regarding his injury concerns, Harmon kept it short and sweet when questioned by the media about his shoulder:

“Nothing’s wrong with my shoulder. I’m 100% healthy — ready to go.”

Following Day 1 of the draft, a report surfaced that Harmon’s MRI at the NFL Scouting Combine showed a partial rotator cuff tear and labral tear — which caused some NFL teams to move him slightly lower on their draft boards.

Despite GM Omar Khan stating that the Steelers’ medical staff felt comfortable with Harmon’s health, speculation remains laser-focused on his potential shoulder injury — but it’s clear that the Steelers rookie is ready to put those concerns to rest.
