The Pittsburgh Steelers’ clear need for additional pass catchers on offense has once again led to wide receiver trade speculation — with Las Vegas Raiders‘ Jakobi Meyers being heavily linked to the Steel City.
Following Meyers’ official trade request, CBS Sports predicted four possible landing spots — and you guessed it, the Steelers made the list of favorites.
“The Steelers don’t really have a reliable receiver behind Metcalf, so the addition of Meyers could do wonders,” CBS Sports’ John Breech wrote. “It would give the Steelers a true No. 2 receiving threat, which would likely take some pressure off Metcalf. Meyers finished with over 1,000 receiving yards last season while catching passes from Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew, and he could probably improve that number with Rodgers as his quarterback.”
Meyers could be using his recent trade request as a negotiation tool with the Raiders, as his current contract expires at the end of the 2025 season.
If there was truth to his official request, however, we at Steelers Wire put together a trade package prediction — one that sees Pittsburgh acquire the talented Meyers from the Raiders in exchange for several picks.
