Michigan State standout kicker Jonathan Kim is heading to the NFL.
Kim has reportedly signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears. Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported the signing shortly after the draft came to an end on Saturday evening.
Kim was a star kicker for the Spartans during his two years at Michigan State. In his two years with the Spartans after transferring from North Carolina, Kim hit 39 of 41 extra point attempts and 32 of 39 field goal attempts. He finished his career ranked No. 1 in Michigan State history in field-goal percentage at 82.1 percent.
Kim will join former Michigan State teammate Luke Newman on the Chicago Bears. Newman was selected by the Bears in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday, and was the lone Spartan to be picked in this year’s draft.
Stay with Spartans Wire for additional post-NFL Draft coverage over the next few days. Kim is the first of what should be many Michigan State players to sign undrafted free agent deals.
