Social media reacts to former 5-star, MSU target David Stone entering transfer portal

Could a once coveted Michigan State recruiting prospect finally become a Spartan? Fans are hoping that will be the case.

Former five-star defensive lineman David Stone entered the transfer portal on Friday night, drawing plenty of attention from Spartan nation. Stone was a major target for Michigan State under former head coach Mel Tucker in the 2022 class. Stone, however, elected to become a Oklahoma Sooner over his other two finalists of Michigan State and Miami (FL).

Stone played two seasons at Oklahoma, with an enhanced role this past season in Norman, Okla. Stone appeared in all 13 games for Oklahoma this past season, recording six tackles — two for loss and one sack.

Michigan State certainly could use some help on the defensive line, and with their being a previous relationship with the Spartans and Stone, fans quickly connected the dots of a reunion between the two. While I personally don’t think that’s going to happen, let’s take a look at the many fans and media reactions to the news of Stone entering the portal below:
