The Philadelphia 76ers continue to prepare for the offseason as they get everything in order before Monday’s free agency period. The Sixers declined Jared Butler’s $2.3 million team option for the 2025-26 season while also knowing Andre Drummond will exercise his $5 million player option.
The Sixers have made another decision as they will decline Justin Edwards’ $1.9 million team option only to sign him to a 3-year deal.
Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Sixers will give Edwards two guaranteed years and he will make $2 million in the 2025-26 season. He averaged 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 45.5% from the floor and 36.3% from deep as an undrafted rookie.
Edwards will receive two guaranteed years on the new deal, sources said. He earns $2 million next season after the 76ers declined his $1.9M option. Edwards emerged as an upside rotation player last season, shooting 45.5% from the field and 36.3 from 3. https://t.co/ZDcgg8JWCz

Edwards was signed to a two-way deal after going undrafted out of Kentucky, but the Philadelphia native played well enough to earn a standard contract. The Sixers will now keep him around for the long term as they move forward into the offseason.
