The New York Knicks were on the road on Wednesday night as they faced off against the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of their second-round series.
Coming off a 20-point comeback victory in Game 1, the Knicks entered Wednesday’s contest looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.
Early on, it looked as though the Celtics had Game 2 in total control until they once again blew a 20-point lead as the Knicks stormed back in the fourth quarter once again.
The Knicks were able to go on another impressive run and they were able to steal Game 2 on the road, taking a commanding 2-0 series lead as they now head back to New York for Game 3 on Saturday.
This was another impressive come-from-behind victory for the Knicks and another complete meltdown for the Celtics as the defending champions now face a must-win situation in Game 3.
While Boston is now in a must-win situation, NBA legend and TNT analyst Shaquille O’Neal also made a bold statement about New York as he believes that they are also in a must-win situation.
“Now for the Knicks, don’t get comfortable. It’s a must-win for Boston but also a must-win for the Knicks,” O’Neal said. “If you want to put serious pressure on the champs, Game 3 is a must for the Knicks.”
“This gon’ sound stupid. Game 3 is a must-win for the Knicks,” Charles Barkley added after O’Neal’s comments.

Both O’Neal and Barkley both agreed that the Knicks must win Game 3 on Saturday night at home to take a 3-0 series lead, which would basically wrap up the series.
Of course, there has never been a team in NBA history to come back from a 3-0 series deficit and if the Knicks are able to win Game 3, they would put a ton of pressure on the defending champions.
Despite this, Boston is going to do everything they can to close the gap in the series but New York will have their home crowd behind them as they look to take a commanding series lead and put the Celtics on the brink of elimination.
