Seth Curry Addresses Golden State Warriors Rumors, Talks Next Team During Free Agency originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Golden State Warriors have been quiet during the offseason’s free agency period. Many believed they would be one of the more active teams after falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the NBA Playoffs, 4-1. The final series score is somewhat misleading, as they almost certainly would’ve put up a better fight if not for the hamstring injury Stephen Curry suffered in Game 1.
The team was optimistic that he could have returned if the Warriors had extended the series to six games, but fans were left wondering what if after they dropped four consecutive games. Warriors fans will now turn toward next season in hopes of winning at least one more championship.
Seth Curry addresses Golden State Warriors rumors during free agency
At one point in the season, the Warriors were taking on water and found themselves as the No. 12 seed in the Western Conference. However, Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. recognized this and pulled off a trade for Jimmy Butler that immediately helped turn their season around.
While Curry got a true running mate in Butler, the Warriors’ identity was far from what it was with Klay Thompson and seriously lacked 3-point shooting. Among other needs, the Warriors should look to bolster this area in the offseason, potentially with a familiar name.
Seth Curry recently spoke about his possible next team as a free agent.
“They play a good brand of basketball,” Curry told NBC Sports’ Monte Poole regarding Golden State. “I feel like I’ve been a part of Dub Nation for a while watching Steph and being around the organization. Obviously, they could use … any team could use shooting. But I can’t say anything other than I’m trying to find the best place for me, and hopefully we’ll figure it out in the next week and figure out where I’ll be going next.”
Seth Curry could be exactly what the Warriors are looking for. It’s been speculated for a while that the Curry brothers would one day play together, and this would be the perfect time, considering Golden State’s needs.
Seth Curry averaged 6.5 points per game in 68 games for the Charlotte Hornets last season. He shot a league-best 45.6% from three, which is exactly what the Warriors would need from a role player like him. If the Curry brothers were to team up, it could be a special championship run for the Curry brothers.
