Seattle Seahawkssafety Julian Love has been the definition of consistency. Critics wondered how the veteran defensive back would acclimate to Mike Macdonald’s defensive system in 2024. Love responded like a true pro, recording 109 tackles. It was his third consecutive 100-tackle season, his second in Seattle.
Love also added a career-high 12 pass breakups to his defensive totals, and his three interceptions were the second-most of his career. Pro Football Focus recently wrote an article detailing the most underrated player on all 32 teams in the league. Unsurprisingly, they chose Love for the Seahawks.

“Love came through with a career year in 2024 as a seemingly perfect fit in Mike MacDonald’s defense, which led to a more complete showing,” Jonathon Macri wrote. “Love finished sixth at the position in PFF overall grade (81.2) and was one of only two safeties (Kyle Hamilton) to rank in the top 10 in PFF run-defense grade (89.5) and PFF coverage grade (76.1) this past season.”
Love signed a three-year extension with the Seahawks last offseason worth $36 million. With one year remaining on his original deal when he inked that contract, Love isn’t scheduled to reach free agency until after the 2027 season. The Seahawks have their most consistent and underrated defender under contract for the foreseeable future.
