A reported transfer portal target for the Spartans is off the board.
Montana transfer guard Malik Moore committed to Xavier of the Big East on Sunday. Moore has previously been reportedly “linked” to Michigan State as a potential Spartans’ target via the transfer portal.
Moore starred for the Grizzlies this past season, finishing second on the team in scoring with 12.6 points per game and 2.4 assists per game. He was particularly impressive from behind the three-point line, where he hit 40.9% of his five attempts per game.
It was never confirmed the Spartans’ interest in Moore, and if he was a priority player for the team. But Michigan State does have a whole to fill in its starting lineup at guard with Jase Richardson electing to turn pro and forego his final three years of eligibility.
