When Steve Angeli decided to leave Notre Dame football and enter the transfer portal, you had to know that he would end up somewhere he could start immediately.
As one of the top transfers at his position during the spring cycle, interest is going to be there and on Monday it was reported by On3’s Steve Wiltfong that Angeli will take a visit to Syracuse today. The Orange saw another transfer, Kyle McCord, take over the starting position and throw for 4,779 yards, which led all of the NCAA this past year. He will now move on to the NFL.
There is no doubt that Syracuse can sell the position to Angeli, showing him everything that McCord did in his lone season, as he finished No. 10 in the Heisman Trophy voting. As a New Jersey native, the former Irish quarterback would be able to play much closer to his home, and for a program that isn’t afraid to throw the ball.
Another interesting tidbit about this visit is that Notre Dame will take on Syracuse in South Bend on Nov. 22nd. It would be quite the return for Angeli.
This is the first visit that Angeli will take since entering the portal this past week, and it could be a short re-recruitment for him.
