Report: Former Jaguars' WR Gabe Davis schedule to visit with Pittsburgh Steelers

Former Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver Gabe Davis is scheduled to visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This will be Davis’ third reported visit with a team since he became a free agent earlier this offseason. Davis has also visited with San Francisco and the New York Giants.

Last season was Davis’ only with the Jaguars after originally signing a three-year, $39 million deal during the 2024 offseason.

A knee injury would limit Davis to only 10 games, and during that span, he caught just 20-of-42 passes for 239 yards at 12.0 yards per catch with two touchdowns, per PFF.

By moving on from Davis, the Jaguars are taking on a hefty dead cap hit that totals $20.3 million over the next two seasons. By designating Davis as a post-June 1st release, rather than taking on that entire dead cap amount in 2025, $5.7 million will be on the books this season and $14.6 million on the books in 2026, even though Davis will be playing elsewhere.

With Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown, and Parker Washington, the best-case scenario for Davis was that he was going to be the fifth receiver on the depth chart, and that’s a big contract to have on the sidelines.
